Bach: Cantatas Vol 52 (BWV 140, 112, 29)Opis:Product DescriptionIn Volume 52 of his monumental sacred cantatas project, Masaaki Suzuki includes one of J.

S. Bach's best-loved cantatas of all, Wachet auf ruft uns die Stimme, BWV 140.

The famous chorale is joined by a couple of the most beautiful love duets in the history of music, here sung by the soprano Hana Blaíková and bass Peter Kooij.

Der Herr ist mein getreuer Hirt ('the Lord is my faithful shepherd') follows. Psalm 23 provides the text for all five movements.

Wir danken dir, Gott, wir danken dir was composed for a church service celebrating the inauguration of a new city council a 'Ratswahl cantata' in which Bach shows off his capabilities as a composer. The first chorus is a reworking of material which Bach would return to in his Mass in B minor.

Review'The cantata for Misericordia Sunday, BWV112 is outstanding. Suzuki draws attention to the strongly directed bass-line of the chorus, the bucolic effervescence of 'Zum reiner Wasser' - delectably delivered by Robin Blaze - and the carefree, generous coloratura of the wonderfully etched duet.' --Gramophone, March 2013'Suzuki's singers, soloists and chorus alike, consistently impress, as I think they do throughout the series...a particular highlight is Blazikova's soprano aria 'Gedenk an uns mit deiner Liebe' - parayerful, stirring and lingeringly haunting.' --International Record Review, April 2013'Der Herr ist mein getreuer Hirt...is perhaps the least well known of this trio of works from 1731, but it's well worth exploring, especially for Robin Blaze's liquid countertenor (swaddled in oboe d'amore) depicting 'pure water'.' --BBC Music Magazine, May 2013'The team of international soloists gives beautifully stylish accounts of the recitatives and arias, and the well-disciplined orchestral is punctilious in their phrasing and in their treatment of dynamics...

The opening instrumental ritornello of 'Wachet auf' is perfectly placed.' --Choir & Organ, May/June 2013Autor:Hana BlazíkováNośnik:Audio CDPłyt:Język: English: Published; EnglishData wydania: 2013-01-01Waga: 0.26 gramWysokość: 0.2 cmSzerokość: 2 cmDługość: 5.6 cmUWAGA: Kupując produkt na tej aukcji zgadzasz się na wydłużony termin realizacji wysyłki (10-14 dni roboczych).
