Concerto Per Pianoforte N.11 K 414, N.12Opis:Product DescriptionIn January 1783 Mozart advertised in the Vienna press 'the publication of three new, recently completed piano concertos', which could even be played with quartet accompaniment thus enabling him to reach a wider public. In similar vein, he told his father that they were 'very brilliant and pleasing to the ear . . . Here and there only connoisseurs will derive satisfaction from them yet in such a way that the non-connoisseur will also be pleased, without knowing why.' It s a fair bet that these dazzling performances by Kristian Bezuidenhout and the Freiburger Barockorchester will meet with the same unanimous approval.

Review'It s a really fresh approach...

I love the sound of it.' Andrew McGregor BBC Radio 3 Record Review, 13TH August 2016 --------------------------------------- Performance: ***** Recording: ***** BBC MUSIC MAGAZINE CONCERTO CHOICE 'Seldom…have they been put across with such completely unified strength of purpose: in each concerto the period orchestral players show themselves exhilaratingly at one with their brilliant fortepiano soloist in exacting the maximum communicative vitality from every bar. These are dazzling performances, at times unusually searching in outlook … an outstandingly successful, pleasure-giving new Mozart concerto disc.' --Max Loppert BBC Music Magazine, December 2016GRAMOPHONE EDITOR S CHOICE 'remarkable ... Mozart encoded his memorial to JC Bach in the slow movement of K414 and Bezuidenhout plays this with touching simplicity; elsewhere he is superbly responsive to the music s high spirits and to the possibilities inherent in these scores' David Threasher Gramophone, November 2016 --------------------------------- SUNDAY TIMES ALBUM OF THE WEEK 'The sound of the fortepiano of Mozart s day may not be to all tastes, but, as Bezuidenhout s outstanding recordings of all the solo keyboard works reveal, the rounded tone, singing legato in slow movements and crisp articulation he coaxes from the instrument is far removed from the honky-tonk sounds of earlier attempts at period performances of the concertos. This second volume brackets together the composer s first three concertos after he moved to Vienna, the set he cleverly marketed although without commercial success as playable with a chamber ensemble of string quartet as well as full orchestra with woodwinds, and in the C major concerto, with trumpets and timps, too. Bezuidenhout s account of the latter lacks nothing in bravura Emperor Joseph II attended the premiere in 1783, and was, according to Mozart, delighted but it is the intimacy of his legato-playing in the slow movements and the wit of his conversations with the Freiburgers top-notch wind soloists that beguile the ear here. This well-known music sounds spontaneous and freshly conceived.' --Hugh Canning The Sunday Times, 21st August 2016***** 'Though listed as director, Goltz is often closer to that of conductor, paying assiduous attention to instrumental balance, supporting or asserting as required. Only in the first movement of K414 is he a touch prosaic; otherwise he grants Bezuidenhout (who also plays continuo and uses the moderator for variations in tonal colour) the space needed for his searching interpretations. Every cadenza and lead-in is by Mozart; every slow movement is played with feeling. Very fine indeed.' --Nalen Anthoni Classical Ear, 14th October 2016Autor:Kristian BezuidenhoutNośnik:Audio CDPłyt:Język: English: Original Language; EnglishData wydania: 2016-09-09Waga: 0.24 gramWysokość: 0.5 cmSzerokość: 5 cmDługość: 5.6 cmNew Store StockUWAGA: Kupując produkt na tej aukcji zgadzasz się na wydłużony termin realizacji wysyłki (10-14 dni roboczych).
