Scale Exercises for High School Instrumentalists: for C Instruments in BassOpis:Scroll below for a video of some of the interior content of the book. Learning scales is an important part of playing any instrument. Practicing them regularly will improve technical skills, increase understanding of key signatures, and enhance sightreading capacity. Being able to move through different scales (and key signatures) with little effort makes playing any instrument easier – and more fun! There are different types of scales. This method book, designed to be used by students of high school age or older, includes scale exercises in major, minor, blues and pentatonic formats. Competence with each “set” of pages of exercises in a selected key signature should be attained before moving to other key signatures. Start at the beginning with Bb Concert. Then, working with your private instructor, move on to the other scales for each pitch of a chromatic scale. Obviously, some keys are more difficult than others, and some are infrequently used. This volume contains exercises for C Instruments in Bass Clef. There are 5 pages of exercises for each chromatic step of a scale.
