Oofotr IIOpis:A beautiful mixture of world music, ethno, ambient and folk music. Oofotr plays music based on traditional folk music from Ofoten, Nordland, in the far North of Norway. On "Oofotr II" Sandbakk, Øien and Stubø have created all new material based on small pieces of melodies from these old folk tunes using different forms of electronic technology. This CD may be put under the label "World Music", but the music is clearly also related to other forms of contemporary music, such as Ambient and Trance. The use of samples, loops and programming have added a new dimension to the music and making the result an exciting aural experience!
