Bartók: Sonata For Two Pianos & Percussion/Ravel: Boléro/...

Opis:Pascal Rogé is today s greatest ambassador and stylist in French piano music. Winner of two Gramophone Awards, his name has been synonymous for many years with the finest French piano-playing both in concerts and on disc. On this disc he is joined by his pianist wife Ami and percussionists Paul Clarvis and Joby Burgess for an exciting recital including a world premiere recording of a work composed for the Rogés: Matthew Hindson s 'Pulse Magnet'; Bartok s masterful Sonata for two pianos and percussion; and the rarely performed arrangement by Ravel of his 'Bolero' for the same forces. The fame of 'Bolero' always irked its composer 'I ve written only one masterpiece Boléro. Unfortunately there s no music in it,' was his wry comment to fellow-composer Arthur Honegger.
